Happy Anniversary to Meeeeee!

Today is a special day for two reasons…

First, it’s my half-birthday! Whoo!

Second, it’s the one year anniversary of Depth in a Shot Glass!

And I’m still here!  Not posting as much as I would like, or as many times as I feel I have something to share. But I have really enjoyed the blogging experience in a way I thought I wouldn’t before I did it.

I wanted to do something special to do for my half-birthday/anniversary. I’ve decided to post a medley of some of my favorite things; some that I’ve  posted about before, and that I have wanted to post about but never got around to, and some things that I just like!

Favorite Song of 2011 (which I first posted about here)

Favorite (First Season) Portlandia Clip*
*Note: Sexual content

Favorite Cocktail in SF
Uptown Manhattan at Absinthe in Hayes Valley

Favorite Movie that makes me miss Europe…a lot

I also really enjoy the soundtrack as well.

Favorite Movie that reminds me of why I am in law school

Favorite Inspiration Ted Talk (Props to Courtney for turning me on to this) It’s what I am trying to feel more comfortable with in my life.

That’s all for today. But stay tuned…

Year 2 of Depth in a Shot Glass comin’ up!

Specific update

Watching the dog and deer video is great.  But I have another way to spend a Sunday evening that I have found is even better.  Not new necessarily, but really, really awesome. Follow these steps:

1. Find a fantastic bottle of wine. I bought one at Whole Foods for $1.99.  That’s right.  Whole Foods, freakin $1.99.  It’s their Chuck the Chuck promo.  Anyway, I’m not ashamed to say that bottle is almost gone now. 🙂

2. If you haven’t already, purchase Florence & The Machine’s album, Lungs. Do it! You won’t be disappointed.

(I’m always late to buy albums because, honestly, I don’t want to spend money on it.  Even though I really appreciate music and artists. Also, I usually do not buy whole albums because I never like all the songs, but I cannot regret ever buying this album. I love every single song. I am on my third time listening to it all the way through. )

3. Pour a glass of wine.

4. Put on the album, medium to loud volume.

5. Lay on the couch and listen.

6. Get up and dance.

7. Take pictures of yourself.  These are inspired by the song, “Girl With One Eye”.

7. Contemplate how wonderful your life is.

You’ve now completed all the steps. Congratulations, you’ve had a fantastic time!  🙂

Monday’s Inner Peace

So far my Monday has been pretty good. I’m feeling a little like celebrating this rare occasion. Today’s inner peace inspriation comes in the form of a rockin’ redhead, some Bowie-esque  makeup and a Mad Max vibe. What’s not to love!?
